Minister L. Linkevičius bids farewell to the outgoing Georgian Ambassador

On 22 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius received the outgoing Ambassador of Georgia to Lithuania Khatuna Salukvadze. The meeting focused on relevant issues of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Georgia, and further steps by Georgia to integrate with the European Union and NATO.

The Minister thanked the Georgian Ambassador for her personal contribution to the development of bilateral ties over almost six years in our country and wished her every success in her future diplomatic career.

K. Salukvadze was glad that she could contribute to the strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries. According to the Ambassador, Lithuania’s decision to refer to Georgia by it authentic name – Sakartvelo – is of great importance for her.

K. Salukvadze is the fourth Ambassador of Georgia to Lithuania, who resides in Vilnius. In September, Lithuania and Georgia will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. 2019 marks the centenary of Lithuania's representation in Transcaucasia, which operated from 1919 to 1921 in Tbilisi.
