MINISTER CONGRATULATED THE LATVIAN MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ON THE OCCASION OF THE 17TH ANNIVERSARY OF LATVIA’S INDEPENDENCE
During a telephone conversation on 4 May Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas congratulated Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Artis Pabriks on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Latvia’s Declaration of Independence. According to P.Vaitiekūnas, on 4 May 1990 the Parliament of the Republic of Latvia adopted the Declaration that constituted the basis for the restoration of independence and led to striking achievements, which Latvia can be proud of. The Minister indicated that the idea of solidarity of the Baltic States was equally important seventeen years ago, as it is important today.
On the occasion of the anniversary P.Vaitiekūnas conveyed his best wishes for the well-being and prosperity to the people of Latvia.
