Minister Budrys met with a delegation of the Israeli Parliamentary Friendship Group
On 3 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, received a delegation of the Israel-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), led by the Lithuania-born Knesset member Simon Davidson.
The meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East, bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Israel, and Russia's war against Ukraine. The head of Lithuania's diplomacy expressed support for ensuring Israel's security, the right to defend itself and underlined the importance of implementing the deal of Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages.
The Knesset delegation is visiting Lithuania for the first time since the brutal Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. Its members will also meet today with Viktorija Čmilyte-Nielsen, Deputy Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, and members of the Seimas Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the State of Israel.
