MINISTER A.AŽUBALIS CONGRATULATES LATVIA’S NEW FOREIGN MINISTER

Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis congratulated Ģirts Valdis Kristovskis on the appointment to the post of foreign minister in Latvia’s new government.Minister A.Ažubalis wished his Latvian counterpart success in this important position and expressed trust that Lithuania and Latvia would continue to develop close and mutually beneficial relations.

On 2 October, the center-right Unity bloc of Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis won the Saeima (Parliament) elections in Latvia.

G.V.Kristovskis was born in 1962 in Ventspils. Formerly, he was Member of the European Parliament (2004-2008), Latvian minister of interior (1993-1994) and minister of defense (1998-2004).
