MEP Elmar Brok has been awarded ‘Lithuanian Diplomacy Star’
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius awarded the decoration of honour ‘Lithuanian Diplomacy Star’ to Member of the European Parliament Elmar Brok in Brussels on 26 April 2017.
“You are a real diplomacy star. I have no doubt that you will continue to be active in your search for solutions of addressing challenges the EU faces today,” Minister Linkevičius said as he congratulated Mr Brok.
The MEP is honoured with the decoration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania for his input into strengthening of ties between the two states, Lithuania and Germany, for strengthening interinstitutional ties, and consistent support to Lithuania in its aspiration to European Union membership. When Lithuania held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Elmar Brok significantly contributed to enhancement of the Eastern Partnership, as well as to shaping and maintaining a principled position concerning Russia’s aggression in Eastern Ukraine. The long-standing Member of the European Parliament Elmar Brok’s term as Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs has expired this year.
