MEETING OF NATO FOREIGN MINISTERS IS SCHEDULED
On 13 August in Brussels, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council was convened, during which the situation in Georgia was repeatedly discussed.
Considering the present situation, it was decided to initiate an extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers. The meeting is scheduled for 19 August. The final decision regarding the Alliance’s extraordinary meeting of Ministers has to be made in the nearest time.
During the meeting, the North Atlantic Council continued discussions on how NATO should respond to Georgia’s call for help. NATO’s Political Committee is commissioned to go on with its work and to prepare the necessary material for possible decisions that would be made regarding Georgia by the Foreign Ministers.
