Lithuania's Vice-Minister and Israeli Deputy Minister discussed bilateral ties, security and innovation in Tel Aviv
On 8 February in Tel Aviv, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taurimas Valys, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Sharren Haskel.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Lithuania and Israel and their development prospects. A lot of attention was paid to economic cooperation between the innovative states, search for new opportunities. The Vice-Minister and the Deputy Minister discussed Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and the security situation in the Middle East.
Valys confirmed Lithuania's support for Israel's right to defend itself and emphasized Lithuania’s approval of the European Union's decision to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization and impose sanctions on Iran. The Vice-Minister and the Deputy Minister also discussed participation in the work of the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
