LITHUANIA’S SECOND AMBASSADOR TO INDIA PRESENTS HIS LETTERS OF CREDENCE
On 9 May in New Delhi, the new Ambassador of Lithuania to India Laimonas Talat-Kelpša presented his letters of credence to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
After the official ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed opportunities to promote closer bilateral cooperation. Mukherjee thanked for Lithuania’s support of India within international organizations.
The Ambassador emphasized close cultural and strengthening educational ties, and drew his interlocutor’s attention to the great potential for economic cooperation between Lithuania and India.
Currently, the European Union and India are finalizing a free trade agreement, which will open up new perspectives to Lithuanian exporters for venturing into the giant Indian market.
The President was also acquainted with Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council, which is starting in July.
Laimonas Talat-Kelpša is Lithuania’s second Ambassador to India.
