LITHUANIA’S REPRESENTATIVES SHARE EU ACCESSION EXPERIENCE IN MOLDOVA

Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Jaroslav Neverovič spoke about Lithuania’s  experience of accession to the EU at an international conference „Striving towards EU: Moldova's progress from reforms to effective transformation“  taking place on 24-25 November in Chisinau.

“Moldova needs a strong impetus for reforming its economy, political and administrative structures. Our experience shows that the clear aim, friendly encouragement and assistance are the driving force of structural reforms,” Vice-Minister said at the conference urging Moldova to remain faithful to its strategic decision – European Union’s membership.

According to Mr Neverovič Moldova can use Lithuania’s experience and advice on accession to the EU.

“The objectives of the state should gain firm support and should be pursued consistently; the “homework” should be done diligently, events in the European Union should be observed,” Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

The conference has been organized by Polish Institute of International Affairs and Moldova’s Institute for Development and Social Initiatives. The conference aims at sharing the reforms experience of Central Europe with Moldovan public officials.
