LITHUANIA’S REPRESENTATIVE TO NATO IS AWARDED THE GEORGIAN ORDER OF EXCELLENCE

On 28 June at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia David Bakradze conferred the Georgian Order of Excellence on Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the North Atlantic Council, Ambassador Linas Linkevičius.

D.Bakradze thanked Lithuania and L.Linkevičius for strong support to Georgia.

According to the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, this order is rarely bestowed on non-Georgian citizens and the Ambassador is decorated for his outstanding service to Georgia.

“This award is the sign of Georgia’s strong respect and appreciation to Lithuania,” D.Bakradze said.

When accepting the award, L.Linkevičius noted that Georgia had always been and would continue to be an exceptional partner to NATO and Lithuania.

“Georgia will remain one of the top priorities to Lithuania and to me personally. You can count on Lithuania’s support for your reforms on the path to NATO membership. At the end of this path there is a full-fledged membership in the alliance and this is set out in the strategic documents that define the NATO-Georgia relationship,” L.Linkevičius said.
