LITHUANIA’S NEW HONORARY CONSUL IN PALERMO STARTED HIS TENURE
Lithuania’s consulate headed by Honorary Consul Alessandro Palmigiano was opened in Sicily's capital Palermo on 25 September. This is the eighth Lithuania’s consulate in Italy, headed by Honorary Consul. Honorary Consul A.Palmigiano is appointed to exercise consular functions in the consular district of Sicily.
Lithuania’s Ambassador to Italy Petras Zapolskas, members of Sicily’s Regional Parliament and Government, the Palermo City Council representatives and entrepreneurs participated in the opening ceremony of Lithuania’s consulate.
A.Palmigiano is the head of a law firm, he is also the Secretary-General of Palermo’s Court of Arbitration. He has worked with more than ten research projects for major international and national companies. Since 2003, A.Palmigiano has been an official expert for TV, internet and media policy at the European Commission's Directorate General for Competition. A.Palmigiano has published or cooperated in the publication of seven books and is the author of more than fifty scientific publications.
Honorary Consul is appointed by Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to develop economic and cultural relations between Lithuania and the country of residence, as well as some consular functions assigned by the Foreign Ministry.
