LITHUANIA’S NEW AMBASSADOR TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC PRESENTED HIS CREDENTIALS
24 February, Lithuania’s Ambassador Aurimas Taurantas presented his credentials to President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus. The President of the Czech Republic expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations and stressed that it was essential to make use of the big potential of the Lithuanian-Czech relations in the areas of business, tourism and culture. The President took interest in Lithuania’s economic situation, the issues of the closure of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant.
Lithuania’s Ambassador said that Lithuania and the Czech Republic had close historical relations, which transformed into a strong bilateral partnership.
“I will make every effort to continue strengthening and developing the cooperation between Lithuania and the Czech Republic,” Ambassador A.Taurantas said.
