LITHUANIA’S MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS CONGRATULATED INDIA’S NEW HEAD OF DIPLOMACY

On 25 May, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas congratulated India’s new External Affairs Minister Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna and wished him success in the new office.
Minister V.Ušackas expressed satisfaction that the bilateral relations were friendly and expressed trust that these relations would grow even stronger in future.
India held general election on 16 April–13 May. A 19-member cabinet took oath on 22 May.
In July 2008, an Embassy of Lithuania opened in Delhi, the capital of India.
In autumn, a visit of Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to India is planned.
