LITHUANIA’S HONORARY CONSULATE OPENS IN DNEPROPETROVSK, UKRAINE’S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INDUSTRIAL AND FINANCIAL CITY

On 18 November, the 7th Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Ukraine was officially opened in Dnepropetrovsk, the country’s third largest city and one of its most important industrial and financial centres.

The official opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine Petras Vaitiekūnas, the Lithuanian Ambassador-at-Large Arvydas Daunoravičius, heads of the Dnepropetrovsk city administration, the regional state administration, and the City Council.

According to the Ambassador, another Lithuanian Honorary Consul in Ukraine will contribute significantly to the rapidly evolving bilateral business, cultural and academic partnership.

At the event, the Ukrainian representatives highlighted the very friendly relations between the countries and noted that Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council had been actively expanding its presence in various regions of Ukraine. They also expressed interest in Lithuania’s further support for Ukraine’s integration in the EU and underlined the huge potential for regional cooperation.
