Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister pays tribute to those who died for Ukraine’s freedom
On 20 November, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas together with representatives of the Ukrainian community of Lithuania, Lithuanian and Ukrainian diplomats lit candles in memory of the fallen heroes of Maidan - the Heavenly Hundred – also soldiers killed in eastern Ukraine, victims of the Holodomor (1932-1933) and political repression.
Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister underlined that the event was organised to express solidarity with the Government and the people of Ukraine “with whom we build our past and our future together”.
“Together we can and we must believe in the power to change, to pick a new path and direction for ourselves,” said Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister.
On 21 November, Ukraine marked the second anniversary of the Maidan uprising.
