Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister meets with the outgoing Ambassador of South Korea

On 25 October in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas met with the outgoing Ambassador of South Korean to Lithuania Ji-in Hong and thanked him for his active efforts to promote bilateral relations, beautiful initiatives to organize a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in Vilnius in May, as well as to acquaint the Lithuanian public with South Korean culture.

The Lithuanian diplomat also thanked South Korea for its support of Lithuania’s accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The Ambassador Ji-in Hong expressed his gladness about the excellent relationship with Lithuania and emphasized the need to further deepen cooperation and to promote direct business contacts. The Ambassador stressed that there were a lot of prospects for cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, life sciences, innovation.

Ambassador Ji-in Hong is the twelfth Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Lithuania, who resides in Warsaw. The Ambassador presented his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė in September 2014. South Korea officially recognized Lithuania on 5 September 1991. The two countries established their diplomatic relations on 14 October 1991.
