Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister meets with the new Ambassador of Guatemala

On 23 January, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas received the new Ambassador of Guatemala to Lithuania Francisco Roberto Gross Hernández-Kramer, who resides in Stockholm. He is the third Ambassador of Guatemala accredited to Lithuania.

The meeting discussed the possibility of intensifying bilateral political ties and cooperation in multilateral forums, and of promoting mutual trade and opportunities for the Lithuanian business to establish itself in Central America.

Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister stressed that it was useful for Lithuania to appoint an Honorary Consul to Guatemala, because this would help Lithuania to develop economic and cultural ties with this country, as well as aid our compatriots, residing in or travelling to Guatemala. Guatemala’s Ambassador noted that he would also seek this appointment.

The meeting discussed the possibility to present culture. Germanas reminded that Lithuanian universities were open to students from Guatemala.

On the same day, the Ambassador Gross Hernández-Kramer presented his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.

Lithuania and Guatemala established their diplomatic relations on 14 December 1993.
