Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister meets with South Korean Ambassador, discusses economic cooperation issues
On 28 October in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rolandas Kriščiūnas met with the Ambassador of South Korea to Lithuania Hong Ji-in, who resides in Warsaw. The meeting focused on the advancement of economic ties, cooperation in the fields of energy and transport.
According to the Foreign Vice-Minister, there is a lot of untapped potential for the development of economic cooperation. The floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) “Independence” docked at the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the port of Klaipėda sets a good example of this. The vessel was built at Hyundai Heavy Industries’ (HHI) shipyard in South Korea.
R.Kriščiūnas also underlined that it was also important to develop trade relations and organise trade missions both in Lithuania and in South Korea in 2015. He also proposed to consider the possibility of opening the South Korean Trade Office in Lithuania.
