Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister: Lithuania and the United Kingdom enjoy sound political and economic relations

On 3 July, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas congratulated British Ambassador to Lithuania Claire Lawrence on her new position. Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister stressed that the United Kingdom was Lithuania’s important partner and ally, both countries enjoyed sound political and economic relations, and Lithuania and the United Kingdom most often had same attitudes toward various EU stances.

Germanas stressed that Lithuania and the United Kingdom spoke up for a faster completion of the internal market, increasing of competitiveness, strengthening of the digital market and energy security. According to the Foreign Vice-Minister, the United Kingdom is an important and strong member of the European Union.

Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister also underlined the importance of cooperation for maintaining international peace and security, and thanked for a principled stance on Ukraine.

Ambassador Lawrence succeeded British Ambassador to Lithuania David Hunt in June.
