Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister Germanas receives the Ambassador of Luxembourg, discusses bilateral cooperation
On 3 October, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas met with the Ambassador of Luxembourg Conrad Aloyse Marie Bruch and discussed prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Luxembourg.
“We greatly appreciate Luxembourg’s contribution to security in our region and to the NATO enhanced forward presence in Lithuania. We also welcome the dynamic development of our economic and cultural ties,” said Germanas.
The meeting also discussed the future of Europe after the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU. Due to Brexit, Luxembourg seeks Lithuania’s support for relocating the European Banking Authority from London to Luxembourg.
From 2014 to 2016, soldiers from Luxembourg participated in the annual joint military exercises held in Lithuania. In July 2017, Luxembourg’s troops joined a multinational NATO battalion in Lithuania.
