Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister Darius Skusevičius meets with the new Ambassador of Thailand
On 12 September, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius met with the new Ambassador of Thailand to Lithuania Vichit Chitvimarn, who resides in the Kingdom of Denmark. On the same day, the Ambassador presented the letters of credence to President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
The meeting focused on the agreements that were being negotiated. The Lithuanian side reminded of its request to grant visa-free travel to Lithuanian citizens traveling to Thailand for up to 30 days. According to D. Skusevičius, this facilitation would be beneficial for both parties. The Ambassador of Thailand replied that the agreement was being considered by the authorities of Thailand.
The Vice-Minister and the Ambassador agreed that economic relations had great potential, especially in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, information and communication technology. To further intensify our economic cooperation, the interlocutors decided to exchange business missions. They welcomed the fact that a delegation from Thailand would also attend the largest international life sciences forum in the Baltics – Life Sciences Baltics 2018 – in Vilnius.
Lithuania and Thailand established their diplomatic relations on 9 April, 1993.
