Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister and Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia discussed relations between Lithuania and Armenia

The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas received the Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov in Vilnius on 15 January. The officials discussed bilateral relations between Lithuania and Armenia, the Armenia-EU cooperation and the geopolitical situation in the region.

Krivas congratulated Armenia on the occasion of the launch of negotiations on a new, legally binding and overarching agreement with the European Union in December, and called on the country to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the cooperation with the EU, especially in the context of the Eastern Partnership.

The first session of the Lithuania-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Economic Cooperation took place in November 2015 in Vilnius. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Lithuania and Armenia.
