Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister and Indonesian Foreign Minister discuss intensifying bilateral relations
On 14 October in Bangkok, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas met with the Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and agreed to further deepen the political, economic and scientific cooperation, presented Lithuania’s potential in the fields of life sciences, information technology, energy and other areas, discussed the possibility to exchange business delegations.
The meeting noted that the bilateral relationship was strengthening and intensifying: Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičiaus paid the first official visit to Indonesia in August of the last year, later the second Lithuania-Indonesia political consultation was held in Vilnius.
In the meeting, the officials discussed negotiations on the new agreements on renewable energy, energy saving, and agriculture. Last year, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister signed an agreement for economic and technical cooperation, an agreement on the abolition of visa requirement for holders of diplomatic and official/service passports, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultations.
Germanas repeatedly invited the Indonesian Foreign Minister to visit Lithuania.
Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister is visiting Thailand on 12-14 October, where he is participating in the 21st ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting.
