Lithuania’s Foreign Minister to pay his first official visit to Israel

On 2 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will be visiting Israel. Landsbergis will meet with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog and the Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and visit the World Holocaust Remembrance Center - Yad Vashem.

During the meetings, the Foreign Ministers will discuss bilateral relations between Lithuania and Israel, the security situation in Europe and the efforts of the international community to assist Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s brutal aggression. The heads of Lithuanian and Israeli diplomacy will also discuss the need for a more robust response from Europe and its partners to Iran, which supports Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Foreign Ministers will also discuss the situation in the Middle East region and prospects for economic cooperation.

During the visit,  the Foreign Ministers of Lithuania and Israel will sign the cooperation programme in the fields of education, science, culture, youth and sport for 2023-2025, as well as the memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the field of innovation and cyber technologies.

It will be the first official visit by the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy Landsbergis to Israel.
