LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER: SOLVING THE ISSUE OF RESTITUTION FOR THE BUILDING OF THE LITHUANIAN REPRESENTATION IN ROME, WE SEEK HISTORICAL JUSTICE
On 22 January, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas received Senator and Secretary of State of the Republic of Italy Alfredo Mantica, who is responsible for bilateral relations with the European Union countries. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Lithuania and Italy, important issues of foreign and security policy were discussed.
Minister V.Ušackas indicated that Italy was an important EU and NATO member. Lithuania will seek to intensify a political dialogue, to increase investments and to promote trade between the countries.
Head of the Lithuanian diplomacy highlighted the significance of bilateral economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Minister V.Ušackas stressed that Lithuania was going to make every effort to solve the issue of restitution for the building of the Lithuanian Representation and the land in Rome.
“It is a matter of historical justice and honour,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs V.Ušackas.
In Lithuania, Secretary of State A. Mantica started his visit to the three Baltic States.
