Lithuania’s Foreign Minister signs condolence book at Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C.
On 29 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, who is currently on a working visit to the U.S.A., signed a condolence book at the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C., after the attack on Istanbul’s airport killed dozens.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister wrote: “Our country’s citizens were deeply shocked by this heinous terrorist attack. I would like to convey my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives or were injured, as well as to the people of Turkey. Lithuania stands in solidarity with Turkey”.
On the same day Linkevičius also sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
“Lithuania strongly condemns the deadly act of terror in Turkey. We reiterate our solidarity with the Government of Turkey, members of the entire international community and confirm our commitment to the common efforts to counter the global threat of terrorism,” reads the letter.
