LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER MET WITH THE GERMAN AMBASSADOR

On 20 January, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas met with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Lithuania Hans Peter Annen and discussed important issues of bilateral relations. Minister V.Ušackas acquainted the Ambassador with the priorities of Lithuania’s foreign policy and indicated that the new Lithuanian Government would seek for intensive political and economic cooperation with Germany.

“Germany is among the most important allies of Lithuania in the European Union and NATO, and an especially significant partner in the field of bilateral economy,” stressed Minister V.Ušackas.

During the meeting, the Minister and the Ambassador also exchanged their views on the issues of European energy security and transatlantic relations.
