Lithuania’s Foreign Minister meets with the new Indonesian Ambassador
On 14 September in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the new Ambassador of Indonesia to Lithuania Muhammad Ibnu Said to discuss bilateral relations. The officials agreed to further deepen the political, economic and scientific cooperation. Lithuania’s potential in the areas of life sciences, information technology, energy, and other fields was also presented.
The interlocutors reviewed the possibility of promoting academic exchange and tourism. The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy reminded that our entrepreneurs were waiting for Indonesia’s confirmation that they were allowed to export meat and dairy products.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister paid the first official visit to Indonesia last August and signed an agreement for economic and technical cooperation, an agreement on the abolition of visa requirement for holders of diplomatic and official/service passports, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultations. Lithuania and Indonesia now continue to negotiate various new bilateral agreements.
The Indonesian Ambassador resides in Copenhagen. He was accredited to Lithuania on 14 July of this year.
