Lithuania’s Foreign Minister meets with new Hungarian Ambassador
On 27 October in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the new Ambassador of Hungary to Lithuania Zoltán Jancsi to discuss the development of bilateral relations and migration.
Linkevičius stressed the importance of cooperation with Hungary in the field of defence. Hungary has taken part in NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission since September. Hungarian forces take part in large numbers in military exercises in Lithuania.
The officials also discussed efforts of EU member states to address the challenge of migration and emphasized the need for the EU member states to adhere to the spirit of solidarity when dealing with the refugee issue and to maintain closer relations with countries in close proximity to areas of conflict.
