LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS WITH EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER DALIA GRYBAUSKAITĖ
On 27 January in Brussels, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas met with European Commissioner for Financial Programming and Budget Dalia Grybauskaitė.
During the meeting, they discussed implementation of the European Economic Recovery Plan that was endorsed by the European Council in December. Special attention of the interlocutors was dedicated to the issue of additional EU financing for the projects that were crucial for Lithuania’s energy security.
Minister V.Ušackas invited the European Commission to appropriately support the energy link projects that were the priority for the Baltic States and Sweden, as well as other initiatives, significant to energy security and sustainable economy development.
On 28 January, the European Commission is to make a formal suggestion regarding the implementation of strategic EU energy projects.
