LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS WITH AMBASSADORS OF EU MEMBER STATES
On 17 March, Lithuania‘s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas met with ambassadors of the European Union Member States accredited to Lithuania. The meeting took place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic which is currently holding the EU Presidency, at the invitation of Czech Ambassador Alois Buchta.
During the meeting, Minister V.Ušackas presented the most important priorities of Lithuania‘s foreign policy and Lithuania‘s position on the main points of the EU‘s agenda.
“We are glad that the principal priorities of our foreign policy form an important part of the EU’s agenda. Issues of energy security and relations with the countries of Eastern Europe are being solved at the highest level”, Minister V.Ušackas said.
The Minister and the ambassadors discussed possible consequences of financial recession and means to tackle them, energy security and Eastern Partnership initiative.
