Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Landsbergis to pay a working visit to Vienna
On 7-10 December, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis will pay a working visit to Vienna, Austria. Landsbergis will meet with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Helga Schmidt. At the OSCE Permanent Council, Landsbergis will give a speech on Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and international organizations’ role in ensuring the European continent’s security. In addition, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister will discuss nuclear security with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy will also meet with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg, the Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Austrian National Council Pamela Rendi-Wagner, and representatives of the leading Austrian political thought centers.
The meetings of Landsbergis with his Austrian counterpart and other Austrian politicians will focus on Russia’s war against Ukraine and the international community’s assistance to the war-torn country. Landsbergis will also discuss bilateral relations between Lithuania and Austria, ties with China, topical issues of the European Union, and important items on the international agenda.
