Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Landsbergis met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland
On Friday, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir. During the meeting, the foreign ministers discussed bilateral relations, the upcoming Vilnius NATO summit, regional cooperation, support for Moldova and Ukraine, and other relevant topics.
Landsbergis emphasized the goals of the upcoming Vilnius NATO summit and the importance of increasing regional security and deterrence.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister also noted the importance of strengthening closer cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries.
“The further deepening of bilateral relations and strengthening regional cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic states has great, long-term potential. By working together, we are not only creating a secure and progressive region, but by demonstrating and promoting our values and common interests, we seek our region’s leadership in defending democratic principles,” Landsbergis said.
During the visit to Lithuania, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland also participated in the Vilnius Russia Forum on 25 and 26 May.
