Lithuania's Foreign Minister Landsbergis met with President Zelensky: peace will come only after the victory of Ukraine
On March 24, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis visited Kyiv, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Gabrielius Landsbergis says that it is vital for the victory of Ukraine to ensure an uninterrupted supply of weapons and, especially, ammunition.
"Ukraine is fighting against an extraordinary enemy, our commitment to Ukraine must not be short-term, it must not be for one attack, we must really be with them until they win," said the head of the Lithuanian diplomacy.
At the meeting, President Zelenskyi presented the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs with a state award. The Minister was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise for supporting Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine thanked Lithuania and its people for their leadership in rallying support for Ukraine and called on European countries not to slow down the pace of support – tanks, artillery systems and other heavy weapons – all of this will bring Ukraine's victory closer.
In a meeting with the head of the administration of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, G. Landsbergis emphasized:
"As the NATO summit in Vilnius approaches, it is extremely important to discuss with strategic partners and friends the possible results of the summit and agree on how we can strengthen the practical and political partnership between NATO and Ukraine and further strengthen the security of the Eastern flank."
"Ukraine is really determined to meet the requirements that are set for the members of the Alliance, and one day to join this club that ensures the security also for Lithuania ," said the Minister.
On Friday, the Minister also met with Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Deputy Defense Minister Andriy Shevchenko. Politicians discussed the reconstruction of Ukraine and the most necessary reforms that would help Ukraine recover as soon as possible and overcome the consequences of the war.
This is the fourth visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Ukraine.
