Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Landsbergis: “Lithuania stands ready to support Armenia’s democratic reforms, strengthening sovereignty and sustainable peace aspirations”
On 29 February, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, welcomed Armenia’s newly accredited Ambassador to Lithuania, Ara Margarian.
At the meeting, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister assured Armenia’s representative that Lithuania was ready to continue its support to Armenia, which chose the democratic path of development and geopolitical turn towards sustainable peace, the resolution of long-standing regional conflicts and closer relations with the European Union.
“Lithuania has consistently supported the EU-advanced peace process in the South Caucasus, efforts to strengthen the sovereignty of the region’s countries and their geopolitical choices based on values. In this difficult geopolitical period, it is important that we join our efforts to ensure the victory of democratic forces in Europe and the world,” the Foreign Minister said.
