Lithuania's Foreign Minister Landsbergis is attending a high-level international ministerial conference in The Hague
On 13-14 July, in The Hague, the Netherlands, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis, is attending a high-level international ministerial conference on accountability for Ukraine.
The conference is co-hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and the European Commission. The event presents the efforts by the international community aimed at investigating alleged international crimes committed in Ukraine by Russia and its accomplice - Belarus, as well as a plan for collective action to ensure that gross violations of human rights and international humanitarian law do not go unpunished.
The conference is attended by high-ranking officials from 60 countries and representatives of major international organisations, including the International Criminal Court, the United Nations, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), and other.
During his visit to The Hague, Landsbergis will also meet with Uzra Zeya, the United States Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights. The bilateral meeting will discuss humanitarian challenges facing a war-torn Ukraine and preparations for the Summit for Democracy in 2023.
