Lithuania's Foreign Minister Landsbergis attends the Foreign Affairs Council
On 17 October in Luxembourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will attend the Foreign Affairs Council, which will exchange views on Russia's aggression against Ukraine and will hold a discussion on relations between the EU and China. Ministers will also discuss topical foreign policy issues, including the situation in Iran, Ethiopia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and preparations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Foreign ministers will discuss the situation in Ukraine, continued support for Ukraine, further sanctions on Russia, as well as ways to ensure accountability for war crimes and the crime of aggression. They will also plan discuss cooperation with third countries and the outcome of the UN’s high-level week. The Council will also take a political decision on the EU's military training mission in Ukraine and an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to further support Ukraine's Armed Forces.
In addition, foreign ministers will exchange views on the EU’s future relationship with China, aiming to ensure the EU’s economic and strategic security in the face of new geopolitical developments.
