Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Landsbergis at the Munich Security Conference: “If we want Ukraine to win, it’s high time we bravely said that Russia must lose this war”

On 18 February, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis met with young leaders attending the Munich Security Conference.

“Russia’s barbaric war against Ukraine has lasted for a year. We must admit that the international community’s military support for Ukraine is delayed. If we want Ukraine to win, it’s high time we bravely said that Russia must lose this war,” Landsbergis said.

With young politicians, representatives of the academic world and NGO communities from the European Union, the UK, Ukraine and other countries, Landsbergis discussed the most significant security challenges, the impact of Russia’s war on energy processes and the preconditions for a more sustainable global security architecture.

“Russia is not only aggressive but also dangerous. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly strengthen the entire eastern NATO flank’s security. Increasing the military power of the Alliance and implementing the Madrid agreements are the main preconditions for the security of the European continent,” the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy said at the meeting.
