Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Landsbergis at the EU ministerial meeting with Zelensky: “The war in Ukraine is monitored by everyone, so it depends only on us how authoritarian regimes will project their actions”
On 2 October in Kyiv, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis attends the informal meeting of the European Union’s Foreign Ministers.
The informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers is taking place for the first time in Ukraine.
“Currently, other authoritarian regimes are monitoring our response to Russia’s war against Ukraine that has lasted for more than a year and a half. How they will project their actions depends on our muscle. I believe that this historic meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Kyiv shows a solemn commitment to continuing the enlargement of the European Union and continued military assistance to Kyjiv,” Lansbergis said at the meeting.
In Kyiv, EU Foreign Ministers discussed support for Ukraine, security commitments and how other countries’ support for the Ukrainian President’s peace formula could be promoted.
During the visit, the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanyshyna.
In addition, the six Nordic and Baltic Foreign Ministers met separately with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
