LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER IS TO BECOME PATRON OF THE PROJECT “IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MOST ADVANCED MODEL OF HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE PROVISION”
On 29 January in Vilnius, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas and representatives from the UK Lithuanian Medical and Dental Association, Junior Doctors Association (JDA) and the Information Centre for Homecoming Lithuanians– Dr. Audrius Šimaitis, Dr. Jonas Korsakas and Žilvinas Beliauskas – discussed the project that is initiated by the associations “Implementation of the Most Advanced Model of Healthcare Management and Service Provision”.
Minister V.Ušackas agreed to become patron of this project.
The aim of the project is to integrate the best features of the Lithuanian and British Healthcare systems, seeking to improve principles of organisation of work and service provision in Lithuania.
According to the initiators of the project, during the project the method of modelling would be applied, when new principles of organisation of work and management provision would be tried out within a small subdivision and later would be applied broader. If most of the principles would stand up, it would be possible to apply them not only in a concrete medical institution, but also to spread them broader in Lithuania.
“I think that this project will undoubtedly contribute to promotion of homecoming of the Lithuanian specialists, working abroad. Today this is one of the most important tasks,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The project will be coordinated by Director of the Information Centre for Homecoming Žilvinas Beliauskas.
