Lithuania’s Foreign Minister had a telephone conversation with the new Estonian Foreign Minister

On 28 November, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius had a telephone conversation with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Sven Mikser.

The head of Estonia’s diplomacy confirmed that the new Government would act in line with Estonia’s main foreign policy priorities and voiced his wish to maintain a close cooperation with Lithuania.

“It is important to continue to work together to strengthen regional and energy security, support Ukraine and develop the eastern dimension of the European Neighbourhood Policy,” said Sven Mikser.

Mikser also noted that Estonia’s preparations to hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union were going as planned. Minister Linkevičius assured that Lithuania was ready to share its experience of EU Presidency with Estonia.

The conversation took place at the initiative of Estonia’s Foreign Minister.
