From 6 to 10 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will be visiting Singapore and Australia — Melbourne and Canberra.
During his visit to Singapore, Landsbergis will meet with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore Vivian Balakrishnan and heads of the Singapore Business Federation, the Singapore Economic Development Board, the Office for Space Technology & Industry, and the Nanyang Technological University.
In Canberra, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister will meet with Australia’s Foreign Minister Marise Payne, the Minister for Defence Peter Dutton, and members of the Australian Senate. Landsbergis will also attend an opening at the Embassy of Lithuania and discussions at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, and National Press Club.
In Melbourne, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister will meet with members of the Australian Lithuanian Business Council, the Business Council of Australia and the European Australian Business Council. Landsbergis will participate in the launch of the Australian-Lithuanian Cyber Network, organised by the RMIT Centre for Cyber Security Research and Innovation and Mykolas Romeris University, and in a meeting with Lithuanians living in Melbourne.
The meetings will focus on the development of bilateral, political and economic relations with Singapore and Australia, and on strengthening ties with the Lithuanian diaspora. The purpose of the visit is to open up new opportunities for Lithuanian exporters in the advanced and stable markets in Asia and Oceania. This will also help implement Lithuania’s strategic goal of supply chain diversification.
