Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis to visit India

On 26 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is paying a working visit to New Delhi, India.

Landsbergis will meet with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The meetings will focus on possibilities for Lithuania to deepen its bilateral relations with India, the strategic partnership and prospects for cooperation between the European Union and India, the war in Ukraine, Western sanctions on Russia and possible further measures of the international community to support Ukraine, as well as the security situation in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.

Lithuania's Foreign Minister will also participate in the seventh annual geopolitics and geoeconomics 'Raisina Dialogue' conference, entitled 'Terra Nova: Impassioned, Impatient, and Imperiled'. The event brings together policymakers, diplomats, experts and former leaders for discussions, as the world grapples with the political, humanitarian and economic fallout of the war in Ukraine. Landsbergis will also take part in the 'Raisina Fireside' conversation about China’s role in Europe and its relations with the EU.

Since 2016, India has hosted the 'Raisina Dialogue' - the most important international affairs conference in South Asia. The event is co-organised by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and an independent global think tank The Observer Research Foundation.
