Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis to attend the Foreign Affairs Council

On 11 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will attend the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, which will focus on the European Union's support to Ukraine against the backdrop of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.

The Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the situation in Ukraine and further EU measures to stop the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, including joint actions in multilateral formats, gaping loopholes in sanctions, issues pertaining to new sanctions, the strategic communication, the fight against disinformation, as well as assistance to refugees and Ukraine.

Foreign affairs ministers will exchange views on the Global Gateway, the new European strategy to develop infrastructure projects across the world, and will discuss the situation in Mali, Libya and the Western Balkans.

Foreign affairs ministers will also hold an informal discussion with the Norwegian Foreign Minister and the Icelandic Foreign Minister on joint actions in response to Russia's aggression. On the margins of the meeting, foreign affairs ministers will discuss with Karim Khan, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, the accountability for the crimes committed by Russia and Belarus in Ukraine.
 
On 12 April, Landsbergis will meet with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn and representatives of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg.
