On 8 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis had a telephone conversations with Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in preparation for the upcoming visit to Iraq.
The Foreign Ministers agreed to seek opportunities for cooperation in the field of irregular migration, as the number of Iraqi migrants trying to cross the Lithuanian-Belarusian state border illegally had soared during the previous months.
The interlocutors also agreed to continue this discussion in Baghdad.
