LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER DISCUSSED EU ISSUES WITH HIS COLLEAGUES FROM THE BALTIC STATES AND BENELUX COUNTRIES

On 26 April in Luxembourg, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas took part in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Belgium, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg and the Netherlands.

Foreign Ministers of the three Baltic States and three Benelux countries discussed important issues of European security and energy security, relations with Russia, the Middle East Peace Process and cooperation projects in this framework.

Minister V.Ušackas stressed the importance of cooperation of the European Union member states in increasing energy efficiency and developing renewable energy, informed his colleagues about preparedness of Lithuanian institutes, universities and business representatives to participate in creating EU Knowledge and Innovation Communities in the areas of climate change, sustainable energy and information technologies.
