LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATES THE NEW U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE
On 22 January in Vilnius, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas received U.S. Ambassador John Albert Cloud and conveyed a letter of congratulations to the newly designated Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
In the letter, Minister V.Ušackas highlighted the significance of a strategic partnership between Lithuania and the U.S.A. and voiced his determination to contribute to strengthening of transatlantic ties between Europe and the U.S.A.
According to Minister V.Ušackas, lifting visa regime will open even a broader range of possibilities for development of people-to-people, business contacts and culture exchange between the two countries.
Head of the Lithuanian diplomacy also thanked the U.S. for participation in the NATO-led air police mission in the Baltic States.
“Lithuania and the U.S.A will continue their joint work strengthening democracy in Europe’s East and making a contribution to world peace and stability,” says Minister V.Ušackas in his letter to the U.S. Secretary of State.
