Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates the Czech Republic on its National Day

On 28 October, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius extended his warmest greetings to the Czech Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek and the people of the Czech Republic on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

“Lithuania highly values your country’s substantial contribution to the security of the Baltic states. Today, as we face common threats to our region, Lithuania and the Czech Republic stand ready to cooperate even closer both bilaterally and as members of the European Union and NATO,” reads the Foreign Minister’s letter.

Linkevičius also expressed his confidence that the relationship between Lithuania and the Czech Republic would continue to develop successfully, while the friendship between our nations would increasingly flourish.

The National Day of the Czech Republic is celebrated on 28 October to commemorate the declaration of independence of the former Czechoslovakia in 1918.
