Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Romania on the occasion of its National Day
On 1 December, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Lazăr Comănescu on the occasion of Romania’s National Day and wished the people of the country success and well-being.
In his congratulations letter, Linkevičius welcomed the bilateral friendly relationship and a close cooperation between Lithuania and Romania on important items on the European and international agendas.
“I believe that the years-long partnership between our countries will continue to successfully contribute to building a stronger, safer Europe,” reads the Foreign Minister’s letter.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Romania. The countries established their diplomatic relations on 24 August 1924. The diplomatic relations were re-established on 13 September 1991.
