Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Oman on its National Day
On 18 November 2016, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah on the occasion of the National Day.
In the letter to the Foreign Minister of Oman, Linkevičius underlined his determination to contribute to maintaining and further advancing mutually beneficial relations between Oman and Lithuania, and expressed his conviction that the existing warm relationship would contribute to the prosperity of the two countries.
Lithuania established diplomatic relations with Oman on 22 September 1992. Lithuania’s cooperation with Oman has been intensifying in the last few years – the countries are exchanging business delegations, the trade turnover is growing, political consultations are being held, contracts and draft agreements are being prepared. Lithuania has its Honorary Consul in Oman, while the Sultanate of Oman opened its Honorary Consulate in Lithuania.
The Republic of Lithuania is interested in further strengthening political and economic relations with the Sultonate of Oman.
